CALL TO ARTISTS FOR WUSATOUMUDUK: WE MAKE IT BURN

A COLLABORATION WITH THE WIYOT TRIBE

The Wiyot Tribe and North Coast Repertory Theatre announce AUDITIONS for a staged reading of WUSATOUMUDUK: We Make It Burn, a new multimedia stage play about Cultural Fire.

We are seeking coastally-based Native American actors of ages 15-100 and all abilities. Experience is appreciated but not necessary. We are interested in people who are excited by the theme and able to commit to the process. Actors will work with text and shadow puppets and will be mentored by a team of professionals. We welcome anyone interested to contact us with questions. We encourage people of any physical mobility or body-type to audition, and all ages, starting at 15 years and up.

Rehearsals will be held in Eureka and begin in May 2024 for a showing in early June 2024.

We are also seeking local Native American writers of any age interested in gaining direct experience in collaborative play-writing.

These are paid opportunities.

Please email northcoastrepertory@gmail.com with the heading “Cultural Fire, Auditions” by March 25th.  Include your experience, whether you are a performer or writer, and a brief description of why you are interested in this project. Acting auditions will be held in April.
